What is The Next Step?
The Next Step is typically a one, two or three year graduate credit program that helps educators obtain 15, 30 or 45 graduate credits in a disciplined, advisor-led program that provides teachers with the most relevant, thought-provoking professional development courses.

The Next Step Discount Pricing is based on a sliding scale. The more courses you take, the less you pay for each credit.
The Next Step Registrations are only accepted after track approval by a Learner's Edge Advisor.

Once an advisor has been established for you, we will collaboratively establish a one, two or three year course plan and complete a Next Step Registration.
A few important reminders you should know:
- Only our 3 credit courses apply to The Next Step.
- Program must be completed within 18/36/48 months of start date (depending on series selected).
- Your series begins upon registration (courses/credits are not retroactive).
- Our current courses 996: I course, topics in the field, 991: Text Seminar (book study), and our ASCD online courses do not apply to the track.
- All current deadlines apply (session/registration/completed coursework), as well as the additional materials fees for select courses.
- Credit limits per session apply.
- If program is not completed in allotted time, reinstatements will be subject to current pricing.
- The completion of this program will not result in a degree or certificate, but is intended to fulfill requirements for license renewal/lane change when proper prior approval is obtained.
